Lady with the world’s longest tongue

Chanel Tapper has recently been recognized by Guinness World Records as the woman with the longest tongue in the world. Her tongue measures 3.8 inches (9.75 centimeters), which is even longer than a medium-sized bulb.

The 34-year-old Californian is known for her party tricks. She can easily move Jenga blocks with her tongue, flip red plastic cups, touch her nose and the area under her chin, and even lift a spoon with it.

But the most amusing part? People scream in shock when they see her tongue! In her words, “It’s fun to hear everyone scream!”

In an interview with Guinness World Records, Tapper said, “The funniest reaction to my tongue is people screaming. They get scared, laugh, or sometimes are just stunned.”

From Going Viral to a World Record

Tapper first started showing off her tongue at the age of 11 for fun. People were amazed by its unusual length. After she was seen sticking out her tongue in a YouTube video, internet users were fascinated—and she gradually went viral.

Following that, in 2010, Guinness World Records invited her to Los Angeles and, after taking measurements, confirmed that she indeed had the world’s longest female tongue. Her tongue is 1.9 cm longer than the average woman’s and 1.2 cm longer than the average man’s!

International Career and Fame

After receiving the Guinness World Record recognition, Tapper got the opportunity to travel the world. She visited Milan, Italy, and took part in a photoshoot for the popular fashion brand Diesel’s “Welcome Successful Living” campaign, where her tongue was painted blue and green.

Grateful for the chance to travel, Tapper said, “It’s really fun! I’m getting to see so many places I’ve never seen before.”

Although many online compare her to Marvel Comics character Venom, Tapper is very proud of her world record. In her own words: “I enjoy fun, weird things.”
