Trump Says Crimea ‘Will Stay With Russia’ in Ukraine Peace Talks
In a new interview with Time magazine, U.S. President Donald Trump said Crimea “will stay with Russia” as part of any peace deal to end the war in Ukraine. He criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for prolonging the conflict by refusing to surrender the Russia-occupied Crimean Peninsula, which Moscow illegally annexed in 2014.
Trump’s remarks signal his willingness to accept Russian control over Ukrainian territory as a condition for peace. However, Zelenskyy has repeatedly stated that recognizing occupied regions, including Crimea, as part of Russia is a non-negotiable red line.
